Do you have a room or multiple rooms in your home that need a facelift? Home improvement projects don’t have to take a long time to complete, so don’t let the word DIY scare you off. Simple home upgrades can often be completed in one day. Whether you are thinking of tackling your family room or bedroom there are small hacks that can make a big difference in the overall look and feel of these prominent rooms.

Family Room

The room that is often seen as soon as guests and family members walk in the door is the family room. This room may also see the most wear-and-tear due to it being the most lived in as most are located by the entrance way. In order to liven up this room in your home, it is important that you give it some TLC every now and again. Here are a few ideas you can try: removable wallpaper, new curtains, decorative pillows, artwork, or a fresh coat of paint on an accent wall. In theory, all of these upgrades should only take a day. So, be sure to plan out what needs to be done before heading to the store.

Bathroom

The bathroom is a place where everyone that enters your home will visit at one time or another, and that is why you shouldn’t be afraid to tackle a simple home upgrade. The style and look of your bathroom can be changed in a day. Without replacing fixtures or flooring you can simply change the look of this room by adding a fresh coat of paint and redoing the colors and decor. Adding artwork and changing the shower curtain and bathroom rugs are simple ways to update this highly used room in your home.

Kitchen

Just like the bathroom, the kitchen can be an expensive place to update but if you love those cabinets and light fixtures don’t worry about changing them out. Adding fresh flowers to your tables, metal signs, or fresh fruit centerpieces can be a fun way to add some new life and color to everyone’s favorite room in the home. Other ideas could be to add an accent wall with family pictures, prayer requests, or calendar of weekly events or planned meals. Also, don’t be afraid to change the colors of the walls or add a fun backsplash.
